How many miles on your fz1??

Yep, every time I fire up one of my gen.1's, I have a wide smile on my face! Yes, there are newer somewhat better bikes, but the two bikes I own, do most things for me, just fine. And oh yes, I own them. No money owed.

That being said, three more days, and myself and the Santa Cruz lads, head out for a thousand mile plus, sport cruise to the Lake Almador area. Use a friends house by the lake as a base, and do three hundred plus mile days. The weather should be great. Well, one hopes.

Threw on a new DID drive chain and sprockets, on the 131K mile wreck last week. See how the ol' thing does on the ride. Should be fine. I will bring engine oil along, however! And Ibuprofen for my old 80 year old bones! Lol! An ol' wreck, riding an ol' wreck! Lol! Another ride coming up, with pals. Can't wait!

That being said, you all have a great day.

P.S. Had breakfast with lads yesterday, and Laney showed up on his new bike. And what a bike! Ducati RSV4 dual sport, with the full power V4 Panigal engine! Hard luggage, and all the bells and whistles. The thing is a work of art, on two wheels! Well over forty K, out the door. Must be nice to have disposable funds! Lol! He had to sell three of his bikes however, to make his wife happy. I should have this problem!

Have a great time, Dean! Whenever you happen to look longingly at that new Ducati, remember that yours is paid for. That always seems to help me feel better about my 20-something year old bikes.
Not to mention that they do pretty much everything I need them to do. I suppose there are times when ABS and cruise control would be nice.

Yep, I can tour on these old bikes, just fine. Indeed, ABS and cruise control would be great, however.

Don't have the money for a new bike anyway, and I live on my SS payments, and my Medi-care. I just hope I do not lose them!

Well, about time to run some errands, then back to my massive front porch, not, for a few hopped, malted beverages, and a hand rolled, maduro, Churchill sized cigar, and watch the world go by! Lol! The older I get, the better I seem to be, at doing nothing! Lol

You all have, a nice afternoon now

Just checked my previous post here. Mistake made! The ol' wreck has 142K miles, not 131! And the blue 2001 model, from Pat Glenn, now has right at 60K miles.

Both bikes continue to run perfectly!

Just finished my two beer afternoon, and a Oliva series G, box pressed maduro Churchill, sizer cigar. All is well with life! Lol!
