I just purchased a battery for my 08

Batteries are crazy expensive. I am cheap and go to Walmart and get one of the $70 batteries with a 2 year warranty. Never had a problem with one.

That's good to know. I have no idea how old my battery is. My bike is an '07 and I bought it in Oct 2010. It still seems to hold enough of a charge. I haven't had a problem with it. I keep it on the battery tender all the time. It does take longer to show a full charge than my wife's (bought new in early 2010) Ninja 250r. I don't want to find out I need a new one at the wrong time, but I don't want to replace it too early. I guess I could take it to a shop and let them test it.

I know I feel more comfortable with a traditional lead/acid battery than the LiIon replacements. A few pounds means nothing to me, and the tender is so easy to hook up, I have no issue with it.
