Ivan's New ECU Flash Huge Difference

Calling him is your best bet. He does this professionally. Turn around for me was less than a week.

His website will show you what you need to do to prep the bike. Everything I mention below is shown how to do on his site. He will answer questions you have but it will be a lot easier if you check out his page first and see the photos and instructions he has first.

Intake mod (cutting out certain places, shown on his site) is a good idea. Slip on, decat. Full pipes are nice but I think it's only the Yoshimura's that really make a difference and they are discontinued.

To prep the computer of the bike you'll need to ground a wire and tap a few buttons on the dash (CO settings). There is a sensor (TPS) that needs to be lightly adjusted which will require a voltmeter to measure, its done by loosing two screws and tilting the sensor, easy once you get to it. And the idle will have to be set, which is super easy and is done by turning a screw on the side of the bike, you can even adjust it while you're out riding it, it's very easy.

Here is a post I made that might answer some questions:

It's extremely well worth it.

This is a keeper thread -no doubt.... I'm going to call and speak to Ivan, thank you for your help. I think I'm also going to modify my airbox as Ivan has shown. I miss the carbureted response of my Gen 1 FZ1 and I 'm hoping to at-least mirror it with the fuel injection. The carbs were very raw and instant in response and power wheelie's were the norm and I had to actively try-not to wheelie. I'm older and don't want the constant wheelies but it's just awesome knowing you can if you want to. Do you guys with Ivan's tune experience a more instantaneous surge from your accelerator than the factory tune offers?

I've had Ivan's tune so long I don't really remember exactly what it was like without, but I think so. I know it seemed to increase performance everywhere. I remember feeling like it was a totally different bike. It was so worth doing.

Yes. While I haven't ridden a carbed FZ1 for comparison, the throttle response was more instant and something needing a lighter touch than before. It revs faster too. My understanding is there was a lot of things that can cause lag on these FZ1s that gets addressed with the tune. You used to have to do it mechanically way back when as well as some other stuff, it's come so far that's all obsolete now.

It makes it pretty much a new bike.
