While I was WD40ing my kick stand I noticed it has quite a bit of left to right play, I'm talking 2" maybe a little more. It seems wrong to me, but I cant get the bolt any tighter. It has never appeared to be leaning to far. My ceneter stand is gone, instead I use a paddock stand. Is yours like this? If so I wont worry about it. If not I need to fix this before my bike does fall over.

Sounds like a spacer is missing? Take the bolt out and make sure you have all the parts as seen in this fiche image.

Thanks Cobalt, sure enough it was missing #5. Not sure why it would be missing, I don't see any reason to have taken the stand off at any time. I just used a washer i had as replacement. It does stand up taller now too, thanks again. I was starting to think maybe they were all this way, and i was just looking for a problem. I certainly had my share of those today. After swapping the rear sprocket and getting everything realigned I realized Motorcycle Superstore sent me a 520 instead of the 530 I ordered. Rrrrrrrrrr thats annoying!! Now i Have to put the stock back on and send back the new and reorder and wait.........again. Thanks for the diagram Cobalt, and ride safe!

You're welcome! For future reference, this came from Partshark.com where they keep an online microfiche of our bikes. I use them all the time when I'm not close to my service manual. Glad it was an easy fix.
