New member welcome thread...

Goodevening, Alex(ander) from the Netherlands, happy owner of a 2008 FZ1S (Gen II), in black and red, with 32K kilometres on the clock.

As for now, changed the indicators to some led ones, tail tidy, healtech Thunderbox fitted with some amazon USB charger on the bar. first bike was a BMW F800ST, after a year went up to this (locally sourced) FZ1, and couldn't be happier. joined the forums to dive into the infinite amount of knowledge (and sometimes dead links, as it seems)

Bone stock:

replaced both mirrors for new OEM ones (rust in the hinges made em al floppy)

Added some Ali Wheel vinyls (lost half of the left side rear wheel, punishment for not prepping the wheel good enough)

New blinkers:

have been fiddling with an oil change with different viscosity, had some hot days riding with low speed and traffic, shifting became harder and nudgy, up untill the point I was barely able to shift (1st and second). Coolant was good, fans kicking in, but suspecting oil shearing because of high temps. Changed to 10w50 with a new filter and seems to have improved alot.

p.s. haven't done the flywheel/stator replacement (yet) but still trying to figure out if the previous owner already did it. (He bought it from new from the showroom floor in 2009)

Haven’t seen this color scheme before. Looks good. That red shock spring is sweet.

Yeah pretty easy job, had to get the original signaling and license plate light cables from the original tail, and feed em back up under the pillion seat. Tail thing was from Aliexpress, uses the original 4 bolt holes BUT I had to get replacement bolts. the original ones thread into the originel tail, and this replacement tail wasnt threaded. got some longer bolts with nuts, and hey presto.

Link to Aliexpress with my tail tidy thingy

Only remarks afterwards are;
1. Fits so snug under the bodywork, I couldt place a dedicated licenseplate holder, and had to drill into my (brandnew) licenseplate
2. because I opted for the thicker letters on the licenseplate, the light doesnt really illuminate the entire plate. might need to space the light thingy out for a 10mm or something like that...

hello friends, update in my fz1 2008, dominator exhaust, front fender and aero forged carbon (only look) and some aero on the radiator, nothing fancy but i like it different.
