NY International Motorcycle Show 2011

I'm in! Confirmed my wife has the kid and I will be heading up with Dave and his father.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again soon.

This is going to be a good road trip.

OH BILLLLLY! Hey I need some help on what time you would like to be at the show by.

I think its about a 3 hour ride up for us.
The key thing is comming up with a meet up spot with you. One that dont put you out of your way. Once we have the spot we can Mapquest the eta to that spot and come up with a Leave from hear time for us.

Brian is comming to my house and My pop, him and I will be on our way.

Lets get a good plan. Im am really looking forward to this trip.

Looking forward to seeing the gang again.

Well, in the past I've always hit the show early on Sundays. I'm usually there by 9:00am. I know thats asking alot from you guys to leave at 6:00am. I go early reason being that by 12 noon the show really starts getting packed and getting to check out the bikes becomes harder. Also, Richie and I will be taking the train down to the show. It's the easiest way for us to go. If you were to leave by 7/7:30, you'd be there by 10am which is still a good time. Also keep in mind that there can be "on street" parking to be found on Sunday in the city but you have to look. If you decide to use a lot, there is one directly across the street from the center, BUT, they charge a premium for pick-ups and SUV's. Thats NY for ya! If 10:00am is good for you we can meet right at the front entrance. By 1pm we should be almost done and can go walk and find a bite to eat before heading home. We have time so mull it around between you and Brian and tell me whats good for you guys. I know your coming a long way so I'm flexible. Just a couple more weeks!

To be out of here by 7 to 7:30 isnt bad for me.
If Brian can get here by 7. am I know my pop will be.
The days plans sound good.
Billy Where would you want us to meet you?

We can meet right at 37th and 11th Ave. Thats the corner with the parking lot. I'm not sure which way your going but the Lincoln Tunnel seems to be the most direct way for you to arrive there.

This is the parking lot at 37th and 11th......

And this is directly across the street from the above parking. We can meet you right by the huge Javit's Sign out front, unless its real cold, then we'll meet you in the lobby.

So are we still on for 10:00 on Sunday? I can't wait !! My buddy Bob that Billy, Tony and I rode with once is coming too. Maybe another friend too.

Billy, I still have your cell number from our ride. Do you still have mine?

I hear there's a boat show there too. If it's not too expensive to get in I might do that too afterwards. Not that I have any plans (or money) to buy a boat.

Tony, really sorry to see on the other thread you can't make it.

Yep! I still have you in the phone buddy. Richie and I will be there early. I'm driving down and am going to look for street parking first. If not its the "lot" for us as well. Just give me a shout when your there and we'll all meet up together.

Well I have my camera batteries charging as I type. It's gonna be a cold one tomorrow but I'm sure the show will warm the cockles of my heart! As you guys arrive, we'll be in touch by cellphone so no need to worry. Be careful driving in. I'm not sure if I'll be looking for lunch or dinner afterwards though as I have to get over to Greenwich CT. to pick up Richie's Lacrosse gear before they close. He starts practice next week. We will figure out something though so not to worry.

Richie and I are back home safe and sound. The show was outstanding as usual this year. It was definitely packed by 10:30am which is a switch from last year. I guess everyone woke up early for this one.

We had a blast with Harry and David as usual. I got to see Steve F. and Bob whom we rode with last year. I think Bob was ready to buy his new ride as we looked on. I'm sorry we missed Brian and I hope to God that everything is okay with you. We'll catch up with you come Spring.

I want to thank Dave for the new bike lift which will certainly come in handy when it comes to servicing the FZ1. We had a ton of laughs today, saw some killer bikes, a sick stunt show by Jason Britton, and picked up a couple of "magical" items before we headed out the door! Thanks to Dave and Harry for a great time! Now! without interruption........the photos!

8:30am and the line is forming.....

After just sitting on this bike for 60 seconds, I would definitely have a blast on one. "Lightweight" is not the word! A bowling ball is heavier than this bike!

I had to have Dave check out the "flickability" himself.....

Richie looking at the Shadow. He seems to be thinking about a cruiser now??? Go figure!

He felt the 500F was feeling too bulky up front.

He did like the 650R but not the suspension setup.

It seems that the Hyabusa is the bike of choice for customizing....

The Victory Chick was a "hottie". I was digging her for sure!

Again with the cruiser!!! I see where this is going.

Well, thats it for this year. Thanks for looking!!

Wow! Sorry I missed this year too Billy. Maybe next year? Thanks especially for the 250R photos. It's great to see the bike with different people on it. I'm still going to try and get one of those.

As for the Busa.... yes! It's a TON of surface area to work with so it is often customized!

Awesome photos and thanks for sharing for us snowbound and chilled northern folks!

Thanks Eric. If the little CBR rides like it feels, it's going to be a big hit for Honda for sure. I simply couldn't believe just how "light" this bike feels. It feels like your handling a moped! Really nice ergonomics to say the least.

That is exactly what I was hoping to hear, that and the fact that it is EFI, it seems like the perfect commuter and will be a great bike for my daughter to hone her skills on after the BRC, of course, at least until she can afford to buy her own bike. I plan on using it almost exclusively for commuting though. I will have to lower it though so I'm hoping that is an option for this bike. Both Briana and Michele have 29" to 30" inseams.

Great feedback and it is appreciated!

This was a great time! My pop and I loved the show.

Billy, Ritchie, it was nice as always to get together and hang out with you two.

Steve, it was good to see you again and to meet your friend Bob.
If Billy didn't check his phone, I don't think we would have found you guys as crowded as that place got.

Can't wait till the next event. Hopefully it's on the bikes but anything will do.

Brain, sorry you couldn't make it, you were missed. The guys said "Hi" and we'll catch you next time my friend, you take it easy!

Till next time fellows. You all take care.
