What about "herculiner"? I see it in my local Tru-Value in the middle of nowhere in NM.

It is the DIY version of the rhinolining for truck beds.

Just throwing it out there incase you did not know about it.

Since you have a no skid court type paint already, maybe you could have a second use for you trailer as a ping-pong table?

I'm as stumped as you are. We are a True Value Dealer and it won't be sent to us here in NY. It has to be with the oil content. They are going "nuts" around here with all that nonsense. We don't carry any oil based paints anymore either, and if you do, you can't sell to anyone without a valid Painting Contractor's License. It's really ridiculous!

I know it's been a long time rebuilding the YZF, and it was indeed a labor of love, but unfortunately I have sold it this morning, about a half hour ago.
I was downstairs fitting the nose fairing on with the garage door open, and two guys drove by and stopped. At first the passenger was just asking me where I had found it, how long I've had it, and mileage, etc. Then, out of left field he asked me if I would sell it. I told him no thanks, but he insisted on at least hearing my "price". I told him after all I've done in the last 8 weeks, that I wouldn't accept a penny less than $3750.00 dollars. That put him back in the car and probably the last I will see of him. After 20 minutes I was ready to get back upstairs when he showed up again. I thought, here we go with some haggling, when he passes me an envelope with $3,700.00 dollars cash! Hell! What would you do??? He's coming by tomorrow with his trailer to take her home with him. I know I had said that I'd never sell her but for $1,700.00 more than I paid 8 weeks ago, I had to do it! I know that Richie is going to be pissed as heck when he gets back from Gaints Stadium, but hopefully he'll see the bigger picture. Besides, I had already saved over $300.00 bucks on the side so I'm going to look for a GenII FZ1 with low miles that I can just get on and go and start enjoying the riding season. With the trailer now, it's easy to just go and pick up whatever I want. I hoped you all enjoyed the thread and don't be upset, just stay tuned for the next rebuild!!!

Thanks Guys! I didn't feel so bad as I did after seeing the FZ1 sail away to Indiana. Heck, after spending $1015.00 on parts I'll still clear $700.00 dollars since the guy will be giving me an additional $75.00 dollars for the Braided Clutch line and Clutch Slave rebuild kit when it comes this week.

DARN YOU "D"!! Hey! It was a good try!!! Hahaha!!!! I think Troy was onto me from the get-go! :evillaugh:

APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!!

I'd have to be offered DOUBLE that amount to even entertain the idea of selling the YZF!!!! Hahaha!!!

Okay, so here is the real update.. I cleaned up the nose fairing last night to clean it up inside and out. It was plenty dirty to say the least.

After a good cleaning with some alcohol it came out nice and clean.

Fast forward to this morning. I ran downstairs just mock up the nose onto the bike. I'm going to wait for the clutch kit and new line before bolting it up to the bike for the last time, but I wanted to see it together for the first time in 8 weeks.

I'm hoping that the clutch slave kit and new line will fix the problem so that I could finally get this girl on the road.

The bike is lookin good Billy! Hope you get to take it out soon. I had the R1 out yesterday for about four hours! Now I am so sore I can't even get back on the bike...

If I had not scrolled UP instead of reading your post, I don't know if I'd have bought it or not! That WAS a good one though! :D

She looks ANGRY in that last shot..... like.... "WHY am I NOT out on the ROAD BILLY!?!?!?" Awesome job my friend!

I was hoping the whole clutch fiasco was ACTUALLY the April Fool's and you were going riding today!!!

Believe me, I wish it was an April Fool's prank as well but unfortunately it isn't! As soon as the kit comes though I'll be right on it! I can't see it going bad from installing new oil but at least it will be "starting fresh" so I'll feel better. When the kit comes and it's installed, I'm going to bleed it from the Master Cylinder at the banjo bolt as I did on the FZ1's brakes. I remember the same thing happened and after Tony told me to do that, it was fine. I'm assuming that I have air trapped at the Master Cylinder as well in this case because the clutch worked fine before I messed with it.
