I drove it 30 miles today to work and when I got there somebody said " You forgot to polish your other shoe" I replied "Huh?" I looked down and said FML

Oil leak on the right cover. Nothing major.

I have alot left to do. I have to make some side fenders still and tuck some wiring. I need to make a choke bracket and finish the exhaust. I am welding up a exup plate to seal up the header tonight and addressing the oil leak.

I am going to order some good vinyl for the seat eventually. I gotta order some new plug boots too among 900 other things

Welded up a plate for EXup block off
Bypassed the EXUP code
Fixed the oil leak
Dropped the pan and cleaned out the pickup tube and made a new oil leak on the pan
Adjusted throttle cable
Fixed the Tach

Things to order

Timing advancer
01 R1 shifter arm
clutch and brake levers
Plasti dip
Main harness
oil pan gasket
vinyl for the seat
spark plug boots
ignition cylinder

It defenatly shows creativity with a gruff and edgy look like its ready to go to war.!!!!!
The things I really like with the gen 1's are they are easy to work on yet they maintain some traditional looks. The frames double cradle down tubes wrap around the engine with just on the right amount of incline forward looking racy....Oh ya parts are cheap
and Black is beautiful!!!!

put 500 miles or so.

I am having issues with misfireing

At partial throttle it cuts out. I cannot maintain 60-75 mph without it cutting out and I get misfires at partial throttle.

If I hammer down on the throttle it snaps out eventually and goes back working.

Also if I try to choke it in while its hot and running it dies but if I slowly choke it in it will rev up correctly...

Well, I looked back at all the posts and I couldn't find one thing about the carbs. Were they cleaned or jetted when they were off the bike? Only asking because of your issue. Being that you have a timing advancer, pod filters and exhaust mods done, I'm thinking that it may be running lean. With your mods I would definitely go up some on your mains and also maybe an adjustment on your needles. Just a thought. Can you pull your plugs and see how they read?

Diaphragms and carbs were cleaned best I could but I didn't remove the bowls.

I never put the advancer on . It is only "lean" on partial throttle...

Carbs were jetted by PO. They looked like they were in great shape when I had them out and cleaned them. Never checked the bowls though

I am thinking spark related so I got new coils and boots.

It doesn't smell on idle or load and my plugs looked perfect oddly...

Well we made a carb sync tool and synchronized them and it helped. We finally broke down and pulled them and found the float level off. I ordered a couple oem float sets to do it right.

few changes to the bike
