What did you do to your FZ today?

Side note, she kept up very well with a new flashed gsx s1000

I went for a ride up the Old Rd today. It was a beautiful day for a ride with clear skies and 23 degrees Celsius.

At Road Warriors Cafe at Mt White, I was speaking to a fella with a new MT10.

He was a previous FZ1 owner. When I asked him how he liked the bike he hesitated then said it takes a bit of getting used to.

He said it was harder to ride than his old FZ1 and it was a very aggressive bike to ride.

I think he was a little scared of it to be quite honest.

It backs up my thinking that this is not a Gen 3 FZ1 but a new Hyper naked bike from Yamaha.

I need to take one for a ride one day to see for myself.

I wouldn't base too much on that. We're all different and have different expectations. I met an old guy coincidentally on the OPH (well older than me) with an FZ1, he said he had never revved it over 5k! I was polite but thought why would you own one and not use it at least now and then?

He's not the only former FZ1 rider to say the same thing.

MAy 1st being a Bankholiday, I took my ride out for some 400km twisties across the Belgian/France borders, together with some friends and with my friend who always wanted to ride along as a passenger. Being it her first time I rode them twisties gently but by the end of the day we were carving them turns allright

Rode the BEAST!!!

Quick trim down of full video to show some that asked about the Quick Shifter. First part shows how easily this bike lifts the front under just medium acceleration. Second half shows the quick shifter in use.

The 04-06 are 100% plug and play, provided you have the r1 axel and calipers. Gen2 brake pads even work. Took me less than an hour for the swap. And I'm extremely impressed already.
