Hello Guy's,

Since I noticed that there are a lot of us here who like modding their bikes, buying all sorts of upgrades I managed just out of curiosity put on the paper how much have I already invested in my FZ1.

In the end when I drawn the line I wasn't shocked that much since for the money spend on upgrades I received a bike that can (as far as mine riding skills allow me) go toe to toe with an R1, CBR1000RR, ZX10-R on the street.

So for me every penny spent was a good one.

How about you?? are you satisfied after all the modes, dynos and recommendations from friends or this forum with the money spent and the performance, looks of your bike???

So here is my "bill"..........

Yoshimura TRC full system - 1000$ (including taxes)
Factory pro Velocity stacks - 270$ (including taxes)
K&N air filter - 85$
F.C.E, Sub Throttle plates - 240$ (including taxes)
Nissin radial pump - 182$
Hel SS Brake lines - 154$
Bagster tank cover - 130$
OEM Yamaha Sliders - 140$
Barracuda vizor - 150$
----------------------------------------
TOTAL - 2351$

I payed a little bit higher prices on some items than most of you since I had to pay import taxes, overseas shipping, other item's I purchased in Italy (which is quite cheaper than Croatia).

I know some guys have said they keep spread sheets on their upgrades.

Who would do such a thing?????

Of course this does not include labor. I do not do everything myself. It also does not include all the pants, jackets, boots and helmets I have tried over the last few years.

This in Kuna?

I maintain a big ass spreadsheet with the parts, gear i buy and sell and the total investment on the bike I think is somewhere around 11k where I bought the bike for 6.5k. the net investment after subtracting the profits is a secret :D. I buy mostly used.

You know, I never actually thought about it before. Let me see...

Probably in the range of $600 for upgrades or things that aren't maintenance items. That doesn't include labour, though. Maybe $1000 total

Well, My bike came pretty well optioned out, and im not sure of the prices but heres the list.

ohlins OES kit
Penske double rear shock
Factory huger option
Factory titanium option handlebar
Factory option larger wind screen
Braided break lines,
Magura Master Cylinder
LSL rear sets (with optional folding pegs)
Devil fender eliminator with integrated turn signals
Ivan's jet kit
Ivan's AIS removal kit
LeoVinci Titanium Hi-Swept exhaust slip on

Now since I have owned the bike I have done the following, minus basic maintenance items.

-New engine-688 shipped

-powder coating-20

I just sat and totaled up all my invoices for the YZF minus tools such as chain breaker and fork seal driver, etc. I did include Ivan's bill since it was part of the mods to the bike. My grand total was $1,775.00 dollars. Add in the purchase price and I'm at $3,775.00 for everything. It seems like a lot of money for a 97' YZF but when I twist that throttle, it's all worth it!!!

I keep all of my reciepts and a detailed list of parts I know exactly what I have purchased for each bike, but I must admit I simply don't want to know what I have spent on the multiple bikes I own now and have owned recently. I enjoy working on the bikes as much as I do riding.

If your goal is to keep up with 1000cc super sports you picked the wrong bike! lol

My goal is to enjoy riding and nothing else. The upgrades I did on my bike are only because I can afford them, if I didn't have the money the bike would stay stock. I'm not looking for a track bike but for a bike that will satisfy me, and up to now it hasn't dissapointed me.

I just used the comparison with Super sport bikes to state how much has the bike improved since the upgrades....

I'm not sure, but probably $2K for mods and paid $4K. My wife likes to tease me and says I have $6K in a $3K bike. :doh2:

It's true, but that's just what it costs. :wilynily:

:)
