Lower fairing cowl

I'm looking to buy a granite grey or carbon fiber lower fairing cowl for an 08 fz1, but i'm not really looking to spend almost $500 for it..... Suggestions would be really helpfull.

Well if you want a lower cost one then you'll have to go aftermarket. Thing is I don't think any fit as nice as the factory one and the color match might not be all that great. You can get the factory one here for $344.96 + shipping. You can also check on eBay and see if you get lucky. Here's a stock black one that should go well with your gray bike and only $270!!!

I also bought one from Yamaha Sports Plaza. They shipped fast and were nice to deal with. Plus they were the cheapest that everyone has found. Matches the 08 perfect

Guys is there a reason to have the lower chin cowl other than looks, does it help with cooling or handling, looks nice and may consider getting one, just wondering about functionality.

I don't think that is does anything outside of change the appearance. I can tell you that I've noticed less stuff stuck to the header down-pipes after install but that is about it. I did only get it for the looks though. :D

Here is my Powerbronze (UK)

I got this one from PB about 150 shipped. Also a bunch on Ebay. Preped and and sprayed with bedliner. Nice finish and tough against rocks. Good fit even with Givi engine guard. A little better fit without. I like it.

I just stumbled across this one yesterday as I was searching for lower cowls: Carbon lower cowl Yamaha FZ1 Fazer

It looks just like the factory yamaha cowl, but in carbon fiber. It seems like a decent alternative for the price.

That looks pretty sweet. It seems to be a replica of the Yamaha cowl so it should fit perfectly.

Looks like I've found my next purchase for the bike!
