Low-sided it!

Low sided on TN290. Awesome road, railing it hard, was on a curvy downhill left-hander, hit a broken tar patch due to which the front tire caught a bit of air and I leaned at the same time and when it landed on smooth pavement didn't hold traction.

Yeah, full gear saved me completely. Took a nice tumble but I guess I can fall down correctly :).

Bike slid into the soft patch on side to the wire fence. Frame sliders, Satan's highway pegs and axle sliders protected the frame, engine, tank. Fender lip and tail handle broke, front stay bent a bit, fairing got a bit of scratches on left and cracked near the headlight corner which also broke. Need to replace fender, front and tail fairing. May as well JB-weld the tail and fender. Forks got tweaked, straightened them right there as seen the pics. Continued to ride around 80 miles after that. Shifter got bent inside that it became difficult to upshift -straightened it with a socket wrench after I came home.

Well, Euro naked version here I come. Popped the "Has Crashed" cherry.

Here are some pics: I am in the silver/grey jacket.

The tar patch is on top right of this pic

Good to hear you were able to ride away from it. Reminds me that I need to get frame and axle sliders installed on my steed.

You just never know when something is going to throw your day out of whack.

yeah, downhill left hander, broken tar patch - one that they used to fix pot holes/road slides, created a little bump, front must hv lifted a few cm and lost traction when it landed down spinning on its side leaned over. I wonder what I could have done to save it, maybe backed off the pace a bit. We were going 60-100mph on that road.

FZ1N version coming up. No excuse now - already delayed it for more than a year with the FZ1N assembly just sitting in the garage all this time

Glad to hear you're ok, which is the main thing. Doesn't sound like the bike is too badly damaged and you can still ride it until you find the parts.

Sorry to hear about it.The best crash to have is one where you walk away unscathed and your bikes not too bad. It happens to all of us mate and just serves as a bit of a reminder about the dangers of spirited street riding.
Hopefully your bike will be back all shiny again soon.

Wow Ashkay! Sorry to hear that you had the off. But, since you got to ride out the day and the damage was all cosmetic, this is what we call a * successful crash!* This was a bit worse than my little off since you required some mechanical assistance and broke/bents some parts. But, at least you have the N kit waiting and can now go naked!

Glad you're OK!!!

Man when it's off-camber all bets are off. Don't go hard on yourself, it happens.

If you haven't check out the PACE idea of riding. Once your whole group subscribes to it the ride becomes much safer.

Glad you are ok man... bonus the bike isn't too bad too but parts can be replaced and healing S*CKS !

As far as street riding goes I have about a summer's worth of experience and that ain't much... what you described I always fear as the northeast roads are full of pot holes, divits and sand... When cornering you can never be too careful....

Good luck with the FZN kit!

Thanks guys! Already mounted up my 07 R1 forks, FZ1N light. Waiting to mount the calipers since the CBR spacers I got can work if I can remove the stuck washers from the calipers.

Will enjoy the naked experience till I find replacement parts.
