I've received a number of them on both sites and it means a lot to me that the members really do care about my fate. In short, I'm OK. Like many parents who lose a child (more than 50%) our marriage will not survive. Jake's passing became a lightning rod of our differences. Fortunately my wife and I ultimately worked this out fairly civilly and we'll be going our separate ways in one week, when we sell the house to our neighbor (who's been wanting it ever since he moved to the neighborhood years ago).

There are so many details that I really can't get into now and please accept my humble apologies to my very close friends on this forum who I have not called. You must understand that between my mom, my three sisters, the 4 guys I consider brothers and a handful of others, my lawyer, and other parties, I'm on the phone constantly. I'm lucky like that with many great friends and family. Consider this: I only recently contacted my med school roommate and a family practitioner, both of whom have been trying to reach me for months. There are hundreds of others I'm not ready to speak to yet.

cos fz1 gave me a great link and I just put a deposit on a doberman puppy. He's beautiful! I love him already. Me and him will move to my mom's in Florida in the next two weeks accompanied by one of my "brothers," a teacher in the Bronx, and his daughter. I just returned from an epic 4000 mile journey with another of my "brothers" to deliver my daughter and all her furniture to grad school at LSU and then over to Port St. Lucie to drop off most of my stuff.

So that's where I am for now. I'm rebuilding my world. And I thank each and every one of you for your care and comments.

i'm happy for you and the puppy. i'm happy you keep on truckin because there's no other acceptable way buddy. like i said, you do what you gotta do, and i'm glad you realize, and ultimately have people that care about you, like myself, that have never even met you in person. i think that speaks volumes about you as a man. eh, i'm done with the sappy stuff, i wish you the best pal, and you know where to find me. now go get em. :Rockon:
 
Norm, I knew you were quite busy with a lot so I only left a couple messages. I knew you'd respond when time permitted.

When will you be up here to say goodbye to us? We'll make time to come see you!!! So going to miss you Norm. You're the best-of friends. :D
 
Godspeed Norm hope that pup turns out to be great for you. I know my basset hound pup has been the savior for my girlfriend at home while I've been deyployed. Best wishes
 
I'm glad to hear all is well with you Norm. You had us worried when we didn't hear from you for so long. I hope you can find time to come visit before you leave the area.....or give us a call and we'll come to you. Enjoy the puppy. He will bring you the many years of happiness and unconditional love that you deserve. Keep in touch with your northern neighbors, eh? We will miss you terribly. Take care of yourself my friend. You are a good man who deserves better than you've gotten out of life.
 
Sounds like your moving in a good direction. Where about in Florida are you moving to? I live in a little town called Ocala. West central Florida. If u are close by we should meet up and go riding sometime.

I hope everything goes well with your move and the life change is smooth.

VERY cute puppy. He is going to be HUGE! I can't get over the size of his feet!! I'm sure you will enjoy the heck out of that puppy, Norm. Nice pics too, BTW.
