I'm awaiting delivery of my T-Rex frame sliders today for my 2009 Yamaha FJR1300A. Should come today and I'll be bolting them up.

I recently purchased a real nice 2009 Yamaha FJR1300A. Was thinking about selling my 2003 FZ1. The bike has about 7600 miles, Corbin comfort seat, GYTR muffler, HEL steel brake lines, and newer in 2012 tires. What do you think a bike like that in great condition would sell for? Thanks.

If after you reconnected that loose wire and it ran like a champ, then it certainly is not a vacuum line. The gen 1 has two ignition coils located underneath the fuel tank. Each coil feeds electric current to two spark plugs. You will see each spark plug wire going up and connecting to one end...

Smell of gas and different exhaust sound, sounds to me like some cylinders stopped firing. Did you feel the exhaust headers to see if any were cold?

With the amount of power from the FZ1, most on this site would recommend a solid riveted chain without the clip/master link. That does require additional skills and tools to remove and rivet the new link into place.

You could also run straight Seafoam thru the carbs if you wanted to. Disconnect the fuel line then feed it directly into the line. Or drain or run most of the gas from the tank and then pour some Seafoam into it.

I agree with you M. You can certainly find many different ways to micro-adjust your chain, but the mfg. supplied alignment marks are plenty good enough assuming you are accurate in making sure both sides are the same. I use a magnifying glass as close up work like that ain't what it used to be.

Well, right now in Willoughby, OH, the temp is -5F.

Ordered some things today I ordered a new Bikemaster Superbike handlebar from JC Whitney, $21.73 delivered, and some new foam superbike grips and bar ends from ebay. When the temp goes up a bit I will do the install.

July 12th myself and a bunch of friends are riding from east side of Cleveland, OH, to Kelley's Island on the southwestern edge of Lake Erie. Take the ferry boat over to the island then it's anything goes all weekend, including some time on Put-In-Bay.

Just rode it With temps close to 70 in Cleveland area today, I just went for a nice ride to the dealers to get a gallon of Yamalube, then to Advance Auto parts for a PL14610 filter. Then one more stop at hardware store and then home. Tomorrow supposed to be about the same temp.
