Gin Gin, we go out that way a bit. Strait roads and the cops don't give in apparently. We are headed to Booreen point on the 28th of Feb might be doing Maleny as well. If ya bored then we could meet up somewhere. I like the S you have there. That is what I was going to get originally

Gold Coast way hey. There are some good roads down that way I have heard about. We might also be looking at the Gold Coast bike expo on the 19th to 21st and doing an over nighter. Trying to organize numbers still myself.. Got any pics of your bike???

Well boys and girls.......especially girls.....lol, If you'v been thinking of getting away for the up-coming winter and have a notion to see what the 'Tail of the Dragon' is all about, I'v got a place here in North Carolina that would be a welcome place for you to come for a holiday. I'v got a 27 acre hobby farm here in the Carolinas, with lots of good riding just minuates from home. There are twisties all ove the place around here, more even in the western part of the state, hence 'Tail of the Dragon'. As for myself, I think its overated, but on weekdays with some sun on the road it's a good time to be had. About the place here.... you could stay, and if you brought your bike, you would have a safe place to keep it. The house is an old one, built in 1923, but theres room if your anything of a hardy type. Just a thought folks. Contact me for info. The stay would not cost you anything once you got you and your stuff here....... well mabe when its all said and done, and your back home, you could send me a pint of Sheaf Stout.......lol.......

G'day yourself - Im a fellow Aussie - now displaced and living in the US - my Pop was from Hervey Bay - but my parents and sis. live in Vic. (a town called Sale in East Gippy)
anyway - I miss the land of Oz and the beautiful bike roads in east Gippsland - BUT we have some nice ones here in MO./Ar. too
Have a VB for me!

Thank for the offer Gohot229. Sounds like a great place to relax and wind it on.... lol. will keep it in mind when my wife and I want to travel. Ive never seen the snow myself.

Actually I was home over the Chrissy hols - so yeah missed Australia day but not by much...Pops name was William Kent - he was a local photographer and alot of his 8000 pics were donated to the public library up there where he kicked the can.
Not sure what became of those - he was an eccentric of sorts so dont hold that a gainst me...Was awesome to be home and see all the old haunts and places we used to ride down in the Vic. bush.

Hi Dee Blu. I'm also from the goldcoast ,have an 08 FZ1s . I've been travelling heaps for the last couple years and in that time lost contact with some riding budds. Trying to start again from scratch.

I was just down that way for the gold coast bike show. stayed over night across from the tavern. 6 hours ride to get down there and 4 and a half back again. was fun and wet at times. hahaha
 
Hi all, I'm hiding down in Wollongong. Can usually be found somewhere up Mac pass or Kangaroo Valley on my weekends.....when it's not raining:( drought my arse!
 
Oh how i miss Mac Pass! Thats the thing i miss the most about moving to Wagga. Now that the pass has been resurfaced, it has to be the best short sprint road in NSW! I used to love my R1 and that mountain.

Only tip is, go slow on the road leading up to the pass, so that you put a big gap between yourself and vehicles in front.
 
I'm from Sydney. I'm often out riding the Nasho or The Old Rd but there are so many cops there on weekends these days. Luckily I work afternoon shift every second week so I can go for a blast, cop free, during the weekday.
EDIT: I have a 2010 FZ1N, my first naked bike after years of GSX-R's and it's awesome.

I must be a bit slow. I joined this forum a couple of months ago and missed this thread. I live in the beautiful Blue Mountains west of Sydney. Like Ballmead I don't have a Monday to Friday job and prefer weekday riding. Weekends = too many Sunday drivers and cops. Having said that most of my mates are not so lucky so I'll ride with them on the weekend for the good of the cause. :D

I've got an 08 FZ1S which I love!!

Missed this thread too!!

I'm on Sydney's northern beaches with an 06 FZ1S that's heading towards 35,000 kms. Means it gets used for a lot of long distance trips. Sydney to Brisbane and back, Great Ocean Road, Tasmania and 4 trips to the Snowy Mountains to name just a few.

Great bike!!

I am from Brisbane (North Lakes) i get around Malaney, Woodford, west of Gympie area, usually very early on Sunday morning before old bill put their revenue grabbing pencil into practice.

Hi everyone, new member,

bought on 08 FZ1S in Brissy and rode it to Southern Sydney on Friday... severe case of monkey bum after that one...
Brissy to Beaudesert, along the Mt Lindesay Highway/Summerland Way via Kyogle, Casino, and Grafton.

From Grafton I went along Armidale Road/Waterfall Way to Arimdale..

A couple of kms on the New England Highway, and I turned right and went Thunderbolts Way/Buckets Way to Raymond Terrace, then along the Pacific and expressway to my new home in Como...

1078.5km took about 15 hours... I was a bit surprised considering I wasn't paying much attention to the speedo... thought it would be much quicker, than the standard 12 hour drive, but I guess having to stop every hour for a monkey bum massage, and ever 200km for fuel and a visor de-bug slows everything down a lot... Bike ran faultlessly the whole way...
