I got these installed last night as mentioned... and as promised, I've uploaded a bunch of pics. First, you know the saying "Measure twice, cut once" ??? Well, I must have measured at least 5 times before drilling the first hole. It's not like I can practice... I did remove the whole tail to get it done though. Patrick's instructions are clear and concise but I didn't have two of the tools listed in his instructions... two VERY TINY and LONG hex drivers...

As promised...

Thanks all!

Billy, yes, these are parts that mount as a whole. I had to drill three holes on the rear plastics, plus cut my stock wiring from the original blinkers and solder them to these pod lights. Still easy enough to put back except for the holes.... and the stock fender being cut to pieces! :D

I TOTALLY agree Adam... need to either create or buy an FE now. I know a guy who is schooling for metal work and is looking for a project. Maybe I'll remove the stock and have him fab something up. He's already asked me about it. ;)

Joker, thatnks for the comment!

LOL! Pete!! It just might be but I'm guessing that if I lay off the Sam Adams for a couple months and bend joints other than my elbows, I'll get a better gain!

Just waiting for the front pods to arrive now.....

Also, don't remeber if I'd mentioned it before but the bike was also de-stickered Sat AM too... And, as I put the tail together last night, I figured out what will fit under the Strike Cowl... I have the following under there now:

  1. Stock Tool Kit
  2. Stop N Go Tire plug kit
  3. spare set of metric Hex on a keychain
  4. minimag flashlight in a case
  5. 10 black zip ties
  6. folding knife
  7. electrical tape
  8. lock de-icer/lubricant
  9. car charger for the blackberry

The only thing that does not fit is the slime air compressor. I'll have to go get some of the CO2 cartridges instead as there is room for some of those (with padding around them!)

Nice little trunk!!

Yea, Eric time to upgrade to that Evotech FE :poke:

Bike looks great by the way

Thanks Tony!

The ones to purchase seems like a lot of money for such small amounts of metal. I think I can have one built for very little money. ;) I just need to mount the plate and get those cool LED lights on the bolts!

Looks good!

How visible are the blinkers in the day time [compared to stock]?

Actually, the same bulb as stock and the same visibility. :D They aren't for everyone but I really like the integrated look of these. They are SUPER lightweight too. I still have to weigh what I removed but these two items were only 123 grams together.

Very nice indeed, are they flush with the fairings or are they noticably added on? Can't really see from the pics.

They are as flush as he can create them but up close, you know it is an additional body part. No worse than the parts of the exiting tail though for lines. :D

Thanks again all. Loving this new look. :D And Brad.... I agree, a woman with nice hips looks REALLY sweet!
