Garage Floor Epoxy Coatings?

I used quickcrete concrete stain for our bedroom. We absolutely love the results of that. Not quite the same process. I can tell you that absolutely the most important part of the process is the cleaning. Don't do a half ass job. Get a good quality phosphate cleaner and scrub the hell out of it. Even before that sand off any areas where there is paint, oil, varnish, stain, etc. Basically anything that looks like a stain.

I would love to see how yours turns out. I have considered doing this in my garage as well.

I have not done this yet Pete, but the Quikrete is one of the best user products. Key is the prep of the floor to be sure you get full adhesion. I've researched some of the coatings and found the Rustoleum to be OK with careful prep as well. Without proper prep, a car turning the wheel on the floor will roll the epoxy right off.

I've also considered having an industrial application that is guaranteed to adhere. More expensive but carries up to a 20 yr warranty.

I will admit though, that after a lot of searching, that blue Quikrete has always been my favorite!

That Blue floor and all the checker plate in the site picture is Beautiful. I am not sure that I would ever go back into the house if my Castle looked like that. Beer fridge and big screen for the computer and it's perfect.

 Don't forget the urinal Lee! NOW we're all set and I'll take the "dog house" any time.

extremes in temp.

I would love to have this done on mine, but I think I'll seek out the professionals considering it is a concreate pad in a part of the world that sees -40*C temps in the winter. The Garage is better insulated now than a lot of houses, but still not heated. I agree that Prep is everything!

That's right. Maybe that is why wives usually don't want their guys to spend money on the garage. The control factor slips away when the "Dog house" is so appealing. ;)

With a Dog House set up proper, it could very well spell out a reason to spark more heated debates in the house to get you there.

Last, we forgot the hammock! :D
