i joined the 'other' FZ1 forum and was instantly banned for posting a photo in my first thread so i'm hoping this forum is a little different! on that note, i'll wait until my second post for a pic >_>

anyway i come from the YZF600R forum and have been riding one for the last 5 years, got a good 90k miles or so on her but i've wanted to move up to a liter bike for the longest time. i'm a relatively conservative rider and torque means a lot to me. in 3 days i've put about 650 miles on the bike and i'm in love.

you were banned becaues they have a security feature for spam..lol it will work after a few posts. Nice Bike!! I am new to the FZ1 also and Love it trying not to spend a few grand in Mods the first few months of ownership..lol

Sweet bike I have the same one color and all. Good luck and I if you want I have basically a brand new gytr pipe for sale for it as well

thanks for the welcome guys. yes it is quick once you get into the 6k range. you really do run out of street speeds quickly, can't wait to take it to the dragstrip!

edit:question, why does the 'new posts' link only show super recent posts? most forums show all recent posts in descending order and shows page after page of posts in most recent update format. what's the deal?

I just bought a new 2012 a couple weeks ago and I love it. This is my first new bike in 33 years. I figured that I'm not getting any younger and love sport bikes. So I got the FZ1 (I call it a crotch rocket for old men to my friends).

This is smoother than the best bike I had before, a Suzuki GS1000, and faster too (no kidding). I put on 260 miles in two rides and love the seating position but not the wind buffeting. So since I plan to do some touring I ordered a GIVI windscreen to replace the tiny stock one. First mod.
