I'm pretty sure that the relay is the same, it only switches on/off the power and the current is redirected by the switch to the right or to the left lamps. I've to look into the schematics... give me a little time. ;)

My own opinion is that you have to replace the wheel. By the way, I do not want to scare you but, besides the wheel, you should check the welding of the chassis. That kind of shot, unfortunately, can have weakened the frame. :thinking:
