Bike stand

Well, the price is a little out of my range but damn if I don't love this stand!!! I'd get this in a second if it was a bit lower. Just the fact that I could do a simple "spin" in the garage and be pointed to the outside instead of doing the "U-Turn Dance" would make this worth getting!
 
There is also this one but a bit more expensive.... This one is a bit more work to use but is more versatile. I think I'd take the Bursig first.

Another cool aspect of that stand? You only need a new plate kit to use it on another bike. I don't see a plate for the Beemer though unless the GS plate will fit her R. Time to investigate!

I moved the electric winch to TX with me too but haven't bolted it to the ceiling yet. I do have a carrier beam in a perfect spot to bolt the winch to. The problem with the winch is no stability to work with the bike swinging! With the Bursig, lock the wheels and work away....
 
The Abba is right at $700, while the Bursig is $609 (once you add in the cost of the 'bike specific' adapter plate). It looks like the plates run about $120 each.

The Abba seems like the better deal to me, since it allows more lifting configurations. Also, you can get the Pro Sky Lift package that comes with the Technician's kit and you'll be good for probably all the bikes you'd ever want to work on. Add the $35 swing arm removal kit and I would think you'd be set up for just about any job you'd need to do.

Of course that's based on Revzilla and Abba USA pricing. It sounds like y'all have found the Bursig on Ebay cheaper. If there's only one bike in your garage, I guess the Bursig could be the better deal - just based on price. But for a guy like me that currently has three motorcycles in his garage, the Abba is looking like the way I might go. I'm not crazy about that little strap thingy, but it seems like the system works.

Thanks for posting these! I had no idea this kind of thing was out there ... and now it looks like I need to do some overtime so I can get one!
