Ram waterproof cellphone mount

The link is broke but is it the Aquabox?

If so, I do not have the cell phone version but my wife and I both use the GPS Aquabox. Works VERY well, able to see the display and use the touch screen and they've never leaked even in a heavy downpour. Very happy with them. Somewhere here, I have pics of it.... Here's a link to the PDF listing the compatible phones: http://www.rammount.com/Portals/0/Skins/NationalProducts/pdf/aquaboxpro1.pdf

I know I'm not answering your original question, but just want to throw this out there: I've been using Arkon cases for about 5 years now. Have ridden in downpours too.. no leaks. It's not quite as nice when it comes to phone use (can't really use touch screen too well), but if you're looking to save few bucks, it does work well.

I have the Interphone box and it does a nice job of holding the phone and operating the buttons and touch screen. I think the Ram box is better and the cost is the same. The Ram is more versitile for mounting options.

Only drawback is that you can't plug in the charger with the Interphone box.

The Aquabox has the available option of routing a cable through notches where it screws to the base so you can charge, at least on the GPS model. In case you wanted to keep is charged while riding. :D

Phone Mount

I'd have to agree with Erci... I have an Arkon Mount that also allows me to plug in and came with wires to hardwire to the bike. 45 bux from amazon and its phenomenal for the price!

I ordered the Aqua Box 20 and had to return it. On paper, it looks like a good idea, but it's not useable with gloves due to the extra clear rubber layer for the touch screen. Terrible!

Now, I just use a Ziploc bag or Loksak and put the phone in my pocket if I worry about getting wet from the rain.

I used a Ram Mount for a Garmin eTrex GPS on my old FZ1 but eventually the vibration got to it and damaged the unit. At 7k RPM & over, my AA powered GPS would turn off.

The Arkon case comes with a lot of padding which seems to help deal with vibration. No issues with my Garmin so far (other then Garmin being a POS in general LOL)

same here, got one shortly after getting my bike over four years ago (I'm lost without gps...).

only thing I did recently was to gorilla glue the case to the mount, it just sorts got loose over the years and would bobble going down the road... but for the $10-15 cost, I've gotten my money out of it.

LOL, yeah, after the unit broke, I never replaced it. My smartphone is good enough for navigation.

You just reminded me, because I didn't have an iPhone, I was forced to use a larger version of the Aqua Box, but I didn't have the biggest Android phone. The Aqua box didn't come with padding either. I had to make my own and my phone was still bouncing around in there.

I should had tried the Arkon instead, but I kind got used to keeping my phone in my pocket; Bluetooth helmet headset (Sena SMH5) to alert me of calls. Love the bike bars being clean.

That's a very good idea, my vibrated loose on the Fwy and I lost it, fortunately it was empty. It was not perfectly water tied either. In some heavy and long (> 2h) rains it started leaking.

I got one of these cheap ones for my mountain bike for my 4S. Turns out it works very well on the DRZ. I am a little paranoid about the connection from the case to the mount so I keep a zip tie attached to the case and the handlebar. It has never come off even popping wheelies. But I feel safer with the zip tie there.

This is the one I just ordered to use on the Tiger and looks to be a bit more durable.
