    Bright bulbs

I'm using a set of the LED replacement headlamps sold by Cyclegear. They make a lot of light but here is my experience with them. I ride the Suzuki SV1000s and have a dual headlight assembly much like the faired FZ1. If you claim to have double the light output but scatter light right in front...

    02 fz1 no spark

I have been able to gather some information on this bike and it indeed is very much engineered electrically as the FZ6 circuits. The coils packs are fed from the kill (red) switch. The ECU toggles the coil pack negative primary windings from open to ground. The ECU runs the coil packs and fuel...

    02 fz1 no spark

Does anyone have a Gen1 service manual with electrical schematic you could get to me? PM me for email address. If anyone can get me subsequent generations I would also appreciate those. I would imagine Yamaha approaches ECU management of spark the same way as the FZ6 which I'm versed in. If...

Will a Cigarette Lighter Jump Start Work on a Motorcycle?

Keep in mind most times the current required is just enough additional current from the helper battery to get the starter to crank the motor. The more dead the bike battery, the more current will have to pass from the helper battery to the bike battery. I believe most of these helper kits are...

Yes! I've seen the change in members of our family that have come home. It's like it takes them time to get the whole person home. Love and understanding mean a whole lot. Reality can change very quickly out there as can living conditions and identity. Be kind and sentient to these people...

    2006 fz1 engine need help

Additionally you'll probably need the logic module that interfaces between the safety switches and ECU. The ignition switch itself may pass voltages to the logic module to give the ECU the go signal. If it's like the FZ6 you could use use a double pole single throw for ignition. :cowboy:

    charging issues

Make sure your battery is good. Batteries can develop a sulphate condition and then will not come to the voltage they were designed for. It will crank your bike over as if there is no problem but your charging system sees it differently. This condition can translate to a constant call for...
