What did you do to your FZ today?

Finally got around to fixing what the previous owner did by installing SAE instead if metric for holding the rear grab rails.

RE: FZ-today

I worked in the shop today cleaning up the Harley and the FZ (parked next to the HOG) began whining. I said pointedly, NO whining. With that, I kissed 'er on her shiny black snoot and then caressed her gleaming engine cases while I muttered soothing whispers just to calm her fears. Sweety, you're still my number ONE ! She's sleeping quietly now . . . . shhhhhhhh

I just realized what the issue with the chain is. I have a 16T front sprocket so that makes the rear wheel sit further back. Bike only has around 7500 miles and I have taken reasonable care with the chain (cleaning and lubing) so I don't think there's any other explanation for what you're seeing.

Could I see a pic of those rear sliders from a distance?

Today, I rode her hard. Met up with a guy who stopped and chatted with me 4 yrs ago... on his Busa. He rode in and stopped with me near work and chatted it up once more. He still remembered my line for him (he still wears NO gear) and repeated it back today.... "I'd rather sweat than bleed." He gave me kudos for ATGATT but says he still cannot do it. I told him that he's going to likely lose skin then wished he did! But, he wants to catch up and ride at some point.

BTW, those Busa's sure accelerate FAST!

I went to the DMV and got tags/title for my 07 (new to me) FZ1. Then I took her out for a spin. Wow! This has a lot more power than my FZ6. I am going to like this!

I installed NEP throttle lock/cruise control. I didn't want to do any drilling on the bike, so I drilled a hole in the tab on the NEP and looped a zip tie through it to attach to the throttle cable housing.

Went to cycle gear today and got new boots. I was going to wait until the morning to try them out but I couldn't. Went for a short ride with temps in the mid to upper 90s. Got so hot, had to stop at Sonic for a slushie!!

Like the boots though. I will give them a much longer ride tomorrow morning.

Which model of SIDI boots did you get. I still want some Vertigo Air. Crossing my fingers for my BDay.

Can't afford the Sidis, I got the Frank Thomas Venus. They are Sidi-like in their build though.

The male version is the Fury. Looks the same without the embroidery.

I have Frank Thomas boots, but have had them for about 10 years and I don't remember what "model" they were. They are starting to lose there waterproof-ness but after 10 years who cares. I am seriously considering the Sidi Vertigos for next season. I definately got my moneys worth out of them so I expect you will to.
