You should go ahead and order one, Geno.... You have the benefit of having the easiest color-matching color.. BLACK! So order one up... sand it down, and blast it with black and clearcoat.. and you're good to go.
As far as the tail tidy tho, I'm the one oddball that thinks that big ole...
Well,
Saw these sport scoops from an old thread, and found a UK company still selling them so I pulled the trigger. 10 days later and here we go. Personally, I love the extra plastic, while it still shows off the engine like nakeds should.
The next plastic purchase will probably be...
Agree
I'm with you, Papa.... I hated the D221's right out of the gate. After 2-3 instances where they slipped when I know I wasn't pushing it that hard (and the tires were warm), I went ahead and replaced them with Michelin Pilot Road 2's. $350 is a small price to pay for safety and renewed...
Welcome
Nice grab, ecruz.
I did the same last September (I think that's when I bought it) Mine was the same as yours... was a brand new leftover 2009. Great bike so far. What color did you get?
Hey all,
I'm a self-confessed cold-weather wimp. I only took the girl out a 2-3 times during the winter so she suffered in garage hibernation sipping on a battery tender most of the time. I'm finding that if the temperatures are below 50 degrees in the morning, I won't even think twice...
Looks Great! Now all you need is CopperDawg's FUZA rear seat cowl to balance out the bike's plastics, and of course the Speedscreen. Ch-Ching... $600 bucks. :sinister:
Looking great, Geno! I don't think you need the OEM one to replace it. The gold paint and the lettering make it look 'sick'. Now you can blend right in with your riding buddies on their fully faired bikes.
Purely monetary decision. If you see my first entry in this thread, the deal was $375.00 TOTAL for this Stainless pipe. I agree the carbon would have looked better with the rest of the black on the bike, but I bet you won't find a better price again for any MIVV Suono.
Hey Wenmark,
I wanted to chime in because my situation was very close to this. I'm sure you don't remember me, but I was sort of active awhile back on the FZ6R forums under another username (nc_fz6r I think). Silly me keeps putting model names into my username which makes it obsolete with...
Ok... my mom and mother-in-law are both breast cancer survivors so I'm aware of the need for research and education. Unfortunately I'm going to play devil's advocate on this one. I personally do alot of volunteer work for Autism orgs & other pediatric disability causes so all this is a bit...
Great price. But color-matching is the problem. Fine if you have a black bike. One of the reasons copperdawg's price is high is due to the finishing process where he puts on the factory colors.
Any local painter in your area is going to charge a couple hundred bucks to color match that...
After years of the Z1000 suffering with either a love/hate reputation (primarily hate), it looks like they've woken up. It actually looks like the designers have been reading all the FZ1 forums. All the small things that people lament about the FZ1 are answered in this new Z1000. Larger gas...
Yes. It is a Powerbronze bellypan. The $130 one you can get on Ebay. They only come in black and carbon; mine happens to be black.
Truthfully im on the fence with the two-tone look. A part of me wants the uniformity of having the yamaha colormatched belly pan. Ill keep staring at it for a...
Moniker... congrats on the beautiful bike. You are absolutely wise to leave the turn signals alone. I have a 2009 and my front signal lights remain on by default as daytime running lights. I'm not sure if the 2007's do the same, but I think this is a terrific safety feature to at least give...
Took it out on my morning commute, and it sounds awesome. I left the DB Killer in, and it still delivers plenty of growl. Without it, I'm sure it'd be way too loud for me (and my neighbors).
I did NOT gut the cat, as I'm not really into improving performance. I was more after the improved...
