***Official 2010 Deals Gap Thread*** (Updated OP)

Sounds great Billy! Sure! A meal out and/or even ordering in some pizza some night isn't a bad plan either. We can all pitch for some take-out for a night or two.

Like I said, I'm not picky at all. I'll eat a wide variety of foods!

Also wanted to throw this out there... Anyone wanting specific mods done but cannot either due to lack of tools or skills, let us know! I can bring a fair amount of tools and would be glad to spend some evening time wrenching/helping/coaching if you all want mods done.

I'm hoping to get a locking hard tonneau cover for my truck before this trip. This way, I'll be able to lock and carry stuff in the trailer's truck box, the truck bed AND the rear seat in the double-cab! :D I'll have this rig LOADED down!

Is there a camp ground nearby? Might be nice overflow for those of us who would like to attend but can't commit at this time. If it would work out that I can go I would love to get together to meet and ride with some of you.

(If this has already been covered, I appolagize, I only read the first two and last two pages of this thread.)

Thanks Roy. I'm unsure about how the others feel but for a small for the week, I think we might allow some tents at this place or, a reduced fee if you choose to sleep in the garage on one of the couches, pullouts or even pitch your tent in the garage.

Thoughts all? We can apply the small amount of money toward more food or the gratuity for the place?

The average cost for camping in the area is $8.00 per night for tents and there are several. We can certainly put you on the lawn there for that money and you can park the bikes in the garage. One of the problems with campgrounds in that area? Almost all are 1st come, 1st served without reservations. :(

How do the rest of you feel about this?

If the others are OK with it I would be pleased to chip in whatever was deemed fair. I probably should have mentioned that I will be camping in a 6x12 box trailer that I have converted to a camper that hauls motorcycles. If there is room for that in the yard, behind the house, out-back-of-the-barn or anywhere else that would be wonderful. If not, that is perfectly understandable and I'll find a campground but I would still be interested in joining you all for a dinner or two and would be happy to contribute. Again, all of this is dependent on my being able to show up at all. (I'm hoping to change employers between now and then and I may not have vacation available.)

There should be plenty of room for all sorts of vehicles, trailers, tents, bikes, etc... :D

Here's a pic outside of the place...

I don't have a problem with any of that as long as everything stays orderly. This will probably wind up being, aside from driving Dale Jr's #8 Chevy around Lowes at 145mph, the best vacation I will have had. I can't wait!

I'm gonna start working on the Food List this evening. I should have a rough sketch in a couple of days.

Here is a shot of what will be following the Cutlass down to Deals Gap. I hope that "45mph" sign is just a precautionary measure! We'll never get there doing 45!

You got that right! It's about 800 miles so 45 MPH is not going to cut it. I think 60-65 MPH should be doable ;)

I'm going to call my U-Haul manager Pat tomorrow .

What do you usually call him? lol

J/K For the most part some of the trailers with speed resrtictions have no suspention so contents inside get damaged. Your hauling a motorcycle with suspension of its own so it wouldnt take the beeting that say a table a dresser would if you were moving. I wouldnt think twice myself to pull one 60 to 70.

I've made up a preliminary menu for the week. Everyone involved should take a look and see if this is okay, or if anything needs to be changed. Once thats done, I'll figure out the "food to buy" list based on the number of people. Feel free to give me your input. I have no problems changing it up.

Here's Menu 1 for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I won't be there until Saturday afternoon, so I figured it best that we choose Saturday for Pizza or Takeout.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday's Menu. I figure to make Wednesday our Big Night Out. It's the middle of the week and all house members should have arrived by then.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday's menu. Tony and I are leaving after breakfast on the 25th so whomever is left can make whatever pleases them for the final days.

This is just a rough draft and not written in stone. Don't be shy to post your opinions. Anything here can be altered. I hope you like it.
