What did you do to your FZ today?

Installed Titanium Bolts

So I got a set of titanium caliper bolts for basically "free" with some other parts I recently bought. I decided to install them on my bike today just because I had them sitting around. I had never compared the weight of titanium bolts vs regular steel ones. Man talk about a weight difference! The stock bolts felt about twice as heavy. I can see why they are used in racing where minimizing weight is one of the top priorities. If I had unlimited funds I would buy more titanium stuff :D

Over the last couple of days, I "fixed" the mistake I made when putting the switch in the inner fairing for my aux lights. The first install placed it right over the regulator thing. Wasn't that much of a problem because I had a small switch but then I changed the switch for a toggle one so it would be easier to know when the lights were on. I tried to move it back but wasn't so successful. The switch prongs touched, shorting the lights. I fixed that, replaced the fuse and moved the switch farther back (closer to me). It now clears the regulator and some black duct tape filled the hole and made the switch fit snuggly. It ain't pretty but I didn't have to buy a new inner fairing either.

I also replaced my FDB levers with some blue shinetrust ones that were not the color advertised. The blue clashes but I got tired of the black!

i bought a pc3, should be on a truck by this time tomorrow! hopefully installed in time for the porno tour, oops im mean Pryo's Texas tour!!:rmwl:

Put on my new RAD-ARMOR radiator shield. Looks great and fit like a glove. The whole thing can be done in about 15 minutes. Don't need a pic. because all you have to do is go to his site and you'll see one exactly like mine. Definitely worth the money although I was really surprised that my radiator was in perfect condition, no signs of rock hits. Of course, I very rarely use dirt roads.

Actually day two for this year but I am commuting on the bike now for 2011! So, it was 36 degrees when I left this morning but I enjoyed it dammit! :D Wife is doing the same on her newly painted purple people eater too!

ok i dug the bike out of the shed changed the oil replaced the plugs cleaned and lubed the chain lube the clutch cable and took it for a 5 minute spin to shake out the cob webs :) now its almost time to go riding :)

Came home with the intention of doing the AIS block off and when I got to the last hex bolt for the inner fairing, I notice that it was rounded off.....apparantly by the guy who put on my top cowling :doh2:

Of course, I called the Yamaha dealer to find a replacement, and lo and behold, the only place around here that had it in stock was the HARLEY DAVIDSON dealership.:confused0024:

Gets even weirder....called the place, and it wasn't the motorcycle parts department that had it......it was the GOLF CART parts department. Of course they're closed on Saturdays. :(:(:(

So I did what every other red blooded FZ owner would do on the first 90 degree day of the year......buttoned everything up, went and washed it and rode until my tank of gas was gone..:sport12:

I rode my FZ1 to the Kawaski Demo.

I demo'd the Ninja 1000 and the 900 Custom.

I rode my bike home. I still love my bike. I'm going back tomorrow to Demo the ZX-10 or 14 and one of the 6s. Maybe more if it's not as crowded as it was today.
