What did you do to your Non-FZ1 motorcycle today.

Ran downstairs yesterday and fitted the Corbin Seat that Tony found for me at an INSANE price onto the YZF. It was cleaned and conditioned by my buddy at work and literally looks like new.

It went on great but felt a tiny bit loose which was bothering me. It's probably nothing but I'm anal when it comes to these things and can't leave "well enough" alone. So today I brought it back upstairs and removed the tension spring from the original seat and installed it on the Corbin. It will now give it a bit more tension and hopefully clear up the tiny bit of movement when the seat is on.

I can't thank Tony enough for scoring this one for me. It's the second "Unicorn" that I found for very little money for the YZF, and both times Tony found it. Can't say enough about his searching skills!

New Clutch cover

A friend of mine bought a used bike with a bit of fancy Engine parts on it. For some reason he didn't want the Titanium Clutch cover. I was happy to take it off his hands for 1/2 the price that it would have cost me new.

That is the problem of not being able to ride. Too much time on my hands.
At least if I ever have a leaky water pump, or a clutch basket bolt back out, I'll know before it becomes a real problem. :D

Started prepping the SV650S for sale. Finally installed a 'new to her' windscreen that a buddy gave me, washed her, adjusted a bar end, and polished up the exhaust piping. Tomorrow I'll finish up with a chain cleaning and lube, and wax the bike. Then photos for a Craigslist add.

The price will be high - because she's worth it, and because not so secretly, I really don't want to sell the bike.

That's a great looking SV! My SV's headers did not look remotely that good!

So you are not worried about dust and mud getting in there?

I got smoother and faster towards the end of day.

I did about 15 miles of enduro trails. I'm whipped.

I need more MX type gear for the trails. I may get engine guards the come up over the tank more.

All in all the bike was great.

A few scratches add character. Just be cautious adding "guards" as sometimes they add new snag points when tipping over off-road. Design is everything when it comes to those.

Brad, Lee - School me on gear.

For light weight gear I have Rev'It, Air jacket, Breeze pants. Problem? Pants don't fit over my Tech 8 boots.

For three season gear I have my old Buell Adventure Suit. Excellent kit, but TOO hot. It was 80 this morning and I was working the whoops. I was roasting. To top it off I was wearing my Knox back and chest armor.

For this ride I'm thinking more Enduro/MX gear.

For upper body protection the Leatt Adventure body protector looks spot on.

I've found some nice Klim pants but no armor. They have pockets for armor, but look baggy. Do off road riders use something else for lower leg protection than what road riders use?

I'm also debating on a helmet, either an "Adventure" lid, or an MX lid with goggles.

All thoughts and advise is welcome.

If we don't get killed by a tornado tonight I'll shoot some video tomorrow. The Guzzi got some odd looks today...

The Leatt suit works well but is still hot unless you are moving. Padded mx underwear helps protect hips. Mx pants can go inside the boots with knee protection over, or under it. In hot climates, go goggles and mx helmet. Dust always gets inside a visor and they are hot no matter how good the vents are. Mx helmets tend to have bigger visors which helps when it is sunny and dusty.

Leatt has a new suit, the 5.1 I think its called. It looks really good. Leatt Brace 5.5 Pro HD Roost Deflector | ATV | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

I use my Revit Sand pants with the hip and knee protection, and they fit over top of the Tech 8 boots. With the liners out and the vents all open they are hot but tolerable as long as I'm moving. I started using Under Armor tights that wick moisture away, under my other gear and they help so much in the heat. In the cold weather, like you may never see down there I substitute Helly Hanson thermals for the Under Armor top and bottoms. I never wear jeans or sweats under my Revit since I found anything with seams became painful after a short time, especially tucked into the boots.
